One month later, the tragic events of 9/11 forced Sony Semiconductor to shut its San Antonio plant down and go back to Japan. Steven lost his job one month later and struggled to find work that pays decent. Finally after several dead end jobs, Steven decided to move to the Pacific Northwest for better opportunities.
Steven became a volunteer fire fighter and ambulance driver where he was able to make a difference once again in the lives of people he interacted with. Every time the tones went off, Steven would come to the rescue, day or night... sometimes for something small... sometimes for something big. It doesn't matter, he went where he was needed.

After a several year wait, Steven had applied and got accepted to work for INTEL corporation. While this was good news, it also meant that he had to give up "saving the day"
He and his wife moved to Portland, Oregon where they decided to set down roots and call it home. Steven decided to focus on his GERC group since there aren't a lot of groups dedicated to researching paranormal activity in this area. Although Steven now lives in another state, he still manages his group in Texas and should people need help, he has the members who can respond. That "alliance" still benefits everyone and as always remains free of charge.
While the world complains about high oil and gas prices, Steven decided he wanted to be part of the solution so he left Intel and is now working for one of the largest solar panel makers in the world... Solarworld. Steven enjoys making the crystals that are immediately used in solar panels that saves people money and helps our planet heal itself. In essence, he's "saving the world" literally.
Steven still gets to help people, not through EMS or Solar energy, but through his two paranormal groups. People contact him, afraid, concerned, worried and scared because everyday people are starting to notice things are not figments of their imagination. That some things exist whether they believe in them or not. Steven figured this out 7 years ago and has been constantly trying to experience these things first hand because they are so unpredictable and fascinating at the same time.
Steven has had success getting things to interact with him and he documents these interactions on video and audio so to silence the skeptics... but more so, to try and understand what is happening, how and why. He's found that life does go on and even in the after life, they too need help. These entities often contact children and sometimes families or individuals. When they do, it can be a very frightening experience because people don't always know where to turn. That's why Steven formed his two groups... to help people and at the same time learn from them.
We're in a
field where everything is brand new. There are no schools where
we can learn the secrets of the paranormal. That's because we're
pioneers... we're writing history as we go along. Mainstream
science is afraid to touch the topic of the paranormal because
you can't probe a ghost in a lab.
Steven argues that not everything can be studied in a lab.
Sometimes you have to go out in the field or deep in the oceans
to learn the history or mechanics of life. The same too applies
to studying paranormal activity. We go where people are
experiencing it, in their homes or offices and that is our
classroom. That doesn't make us any less credible or legit as
scientists or pioneers.
It's not often people are invited into their homes or businesses to experience something paranormal. These are peoples homes, sanctuaries, and/or offices! Steven respects this trust, just as he did when he was a fire fighter and a medic. That's why he constantly strives to be professional and compassionate at the same time. It's a delicate balance between learning and helping. Steven also knows people are already afraid by the time he and his group is contacted. His job is to comfort and educate people from the lessons he's learned in researching this field.
In the last several years, Steven has noticed an alarming trend of "ghost hunters" and "ghost groups" popping up and knocking on people's doors to ask to investigate a location that is allegedly haunted. Reports of these "rogue" individuals and groups are also leaving a path of destruction. Cemeteries are being vandalized, abandoned properties (and even not-so abandoned properties) are being trespassed all in the name of "ghost hunting".
The actions of these individuals suggest that they don't care about you or your property. This happens year around but more so around the Halloween months. Unfortunately the reputations of all ghost hunters/paranormal investigators takes a big hit just the same. However, should you require the assistance of a paranormal investigator
Just remember: Actions speak louder than words.
Look at the previous actions of the person you are inviting into your home or business, regardless who it is. If you can't tell what type of person they are then move on to another group or website. You have enough things on your plate to have to worry about if someone is going to steal from you or run around like kids in a playground in your house. That's how you can filter out who's legit & who's not. Fancy websites don't mean a thing anymore because anyone can make them. But one thing you can't hide is the quality of investigator you choose.
